Fun, Fabulous, Friday!!!

Gotta love those days that you feel like you could conquer the world.  Today, was definitely one of those days. We started the letter “B”, did a handprint wreath, made bubble art, and we were able to make cupcakes and decorate them for her 3rd birthday party tomorrow.  Definitely feel like we accomplished a lot.

Here is our day in picture form…

Bubble art…we put food coloring in the bubbles and then our daughter and the neighbor’s daughter blew bubbles onto the paper to create a color collage.

Fruit painting

I love having a curriculum that gives me ideas, but also having resources that allow me to do things with Meghan much cheaper than buying a bunch of supplies myself.  Today, she did apple paintings and had a BLAST. One picture definitely was not enough, she did a total of five and would have kept going.  I love to hear her re-tell daddy and her babies the things that we worked on. Here are a few things from our day today.

Get ready to read

I found this link from Homeschool for Free….  I am learning that reading to my daughter can be a lot of fun.  I hope some of my friends can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Not creative at all

I do not have a creative idea about me.  As you follow our progress this year, please do not think that any games or craft is original because they will not be Smile. I have always struggled to be creative, but I am thankful for friends, websites, blogs, and a curriculum to help me.  As we move on to the letter “B” tomorrow (mommy is excited), I am thinking about the creative possibilities. We can make bees, bears, bubbles, baskets, boats, oh the list goes on. I think my biggest problem as I am catching on to this “preschool thing”, is not overwhelming our daughter with my ideas.  I have to remember to keep it simple, but fun.

Not everyone agrees

In my one week of “formally” working with Meghan, I have learned that not everyone agrees with what I am doing.  I care to a degree, but when I have an almost 3-year old begging me to do “homework”, I’m not going to tell her no.  I have involved the neighbor children with her learning, so there are times she doesn’t even know she is learning.  This allows her to have fun, learn, the neighbor children to be involved with her, and move forward with life.

I have loved working with her during the day, and listen to her being so excited to tell daddy what she did that day.  She lights up like a firefly when he comes home and becomes excited as a new puppy to show him her accomplishments.  My days do not always go as planned, but as long as she is having fun…I really do not care.  I am thankful for a really good friend who keeps me in check and helps to remind me that what I am doing is not wrong, and Meghan has time.
